Permaculture Design Course Portugal

eela Permaculture Farm’s Permaculture Design Course is officially accredited by the Permaculture Association. This course is available several times each year and encompasses the complete 72-hour PDC curriculum, focusing on permaculture systems, practical experiences, and the development of a personal design project. It is particularly beneficial for people who want to incorporate permaculture into their lives, especially those who own property, plan to initiate a permaculture project, or desire to cultivate food.

Participants will engage in off-grid living within a nurturing community, deepening their connection with nature. They will be provided with wholesome organic meals and can take part in calisthenics or yoga sessions. The operational 52-acre permaculture farm features food forests, agroforestry, and various sustainable natural structures made from straw bale, cordwood, and cob. Students will have the chance to see real-world examples of permaculture systems, which include the integration of sheep, pigs, and chickens.

During the course, each student will select a personal project, creating a direct connection between the coursework and their unique interests. Projects can vary from designing a garden on their own property to rejuvenating a parent's garden or balcony or even establishing a worm farming system—whatever aligns with their future goals.

The PDC can be taken as a standalone two-week program, or participants may choose to extend their stay for one month to participate in additional courses in Natural Building and Permaculture in Practice.

After successfully finishing the course, participants will earn a certified Permaculture Design Course certificate, acknowledging their gained knowledge and skills in permaculture concepts and design.
