Certified Permaculture Design Course Portugal
Keela Permaculture Farm’s Permaculture Design Course is officially accredited by the Permaculture Association. This course is held three times a year and covers the standard 72-hour PDC curriculum, emphasizing permaculture systems, practical experience, and the development of a permaculture design for a personal project. It is an ideal course for individuals looking to incorporate permaculture into their lives, especially those who own land, plan to initiate a permaculture project, or wish to cultivate food.
Participants will be thoroughly engaged in off-grid living within a communal environment, promoting a strong bond with nature. They will enjoy nutritious organic meals and take part in energizing yoga sessions. The operational 52-acre permaculture farm showcases food forests, agroforestry, and various sustainable natural structures built using straw bale, cordwood, and cob. Students will observe real-world examples of permaculture systems, including the integration of sheep, pigs, and chickens.
Throughout the course, each student will select a personal project to focus on, creating a direct connection between the curriculum and their unique interests. This project can vary from designing for their own property to reworking a parent's garden or balcony or establishing a worm system—anything applicable to their future endeavors.
The PDC can be taken independently or alongside subsequent courses that follow directly after the PDC. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certified Permaculture Design Course certificate, which recognizes their newly acquired knowledge and skills in permaculture principles and design.
