Permaculture Design Course Portugal

Keela Permaculture Farm’s Permaculture Design Course has received official certification from the Permaculture Association. This course is offered multiple times each year and includes the standard 72-hour PDC syllabus, emphasizing permaculture systems, hands-on learning, and creating a permaculture design for a personal endeavor. It is an excellent option for individuals looking to incorporate permaculture into their lives, especially for those who own land, intend to start a permaculture initiative, or grow their own food.

Participants will be deeply immersed in off-grid living within a community environment, which encourages a strong connection with nature. They will enjoy nutritious organic meals and take part in callisthenics or yoga sessions. The operational 52-acre permaculture farm showcases food forests, agroforestry, and various sustainable natural structures built using straw bale, cordwood, and cob. Students will observe real-life examples of permaculture systems, including the integration of sheep, pigs, and chickens.

Throughout the course, each student will select a personal project to focus on, creating a direct connection between the curriculum and their specific interests. This project may involve designing for their own property, transforming a parent's garden or balcony, or establishing a worm system—anything pertinent to their future aspirations.

The PDC can be pursued as a standalone two-week course, or participants can extend their stay to one month to also attend the following Natural Building and Permaculture in Practice courses.

After successfully completing the course, attendees will receive a certified Permaculture Design Course certificate, affirming their newly acquired knowledge and skills in the principles and design of permaculture. their newly acquired knowledge and skills in the principles and design of permaculture.
