Rural Life Immersion

Type: Workshop
Course type:
Main language: Spanish
Price from: 190 €

This Rural Life Immersion course, in Southeastern Spain, is directed towards those who are thinking about making a change in their lives, feel the call of the countryside, or are just interested in exploring what a simpler lifestyle that is more conscious and connected to the earth could look like. It is a course that takes a practical and honest “warts and all” look at how we manage our rural lives: work and care for the earth, whilst sustaining ourselves and our communities.

During the course you will visit  four very different projects: a commercial citrus growing enterprise + food forest (Proyecto Rucula); an incipient community project currently in the throes of house rennovation (Proyecto las Torrentas) ; an established family smallholding (Proyecto Las Suertes); and a Land Stewardship project (Almazaran).

You will not be here just to observe, but also to participate with us in our day to day lives.

Rural living can be tough, but also profoundly rewarding. During this immersive course we will explore :

  • Soil and landscape regeneration in an arid climate
  • Water management as central to landscape design
  • Growing food sustainably
  • The integration of biodiversity with profitability
  • Building relationships and community
  • Home rennovations using natural and local materials

The course will be in Spanish with English translation
