Our RaČitluk estate is located in the village of Čitluk, 10 km from Sokobanja, surrounded by the beautiful mountains of Devica, Ozren, Krstatac and Rtanj in Eastern Serbia. We moved to it in 2022 (it was purchased in February) and I must admit that it was extremely neglected. From the very beginning, we have been developing it according to permaculture principles and when it comes to design, we are still patiently observing certain elements - especially the element of water. Since the first summer, we have been organizing camp workshops where we invite people to learn together with us how to renovate old houses with mud plaster (we have two buildings older than a hundred years, one house is older than 200 years), we hold permaculture blitzes, and last year we also had a camp workshop with a lecturer from Chile who teaches us water management, because he is one of the completed interns on the waterstories.com platform. Next summer, we will be hosting a 72-hour permaculture design course, and we invite all of you who are interested to contact us. The teachers who will teach and lead this course are from Croatia. We believe that by collaborating with everyone who promotes permaculture, we will participate in designing a more sustainable world.

A global survey has revealed that one-third of people experience loneliness, with some countries reporting rates as high as 50%. Not only are people statistically unhappy, but our demand on our planet’s resources is also unsustainable.
