Permaculture Design Course
Keela Permaculture Farm's Permaculture Design Course is officially certified by the Permaculture Association. This course is offered three times a year and covers the standard 72-hour PDC syllabus, focusing on permaculture systems, hands-on experience, and the completion of a permaculture design for a personal project. It is ideal for individuals wanting to incorporate permaculture into their lives, especially those who already own land, plan to start a permaculture project, or wish to grow food.
Participants will be fully immersed in off-grid living within a community setting, fostering a deep connection with nature. They will enjoy nutritious organic meals and engage in invigorating yoga classes. The 52-acre functioning permaculture farm showcases food forests, agroforestry, and various sustainable natural buildings constructed with straw bales, cordwood, and cob. Students will observe practical examples of permaculture systems, including the integration of sheep, pigs, and chickens.
Throughout the course, each student will select a personal project to work on, creating a direct link between the curriculum and their individual interests. This project can vary from designing for their own land to transforming a parent's garden or balcony, or implementing a worm system—anything relevant to their future plans.
The PDC can be taken as a standalone program or in combination with subsequent courses that immediately follow the PDC.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certified Permaculture Design Course certificate, a testament to their newfound knowledge and skills in permaculture principles and design.
