The pilot iLAND Network is taking shape with 7 aspiring LAND Centre projects having applied in Europe (in Latvia, Bulgaria (x2), Romania, Portugal, Ukraine and Netherlands), 4 across Africa, 1 in Armenia and 1 in Laos. IPEN will accept 15 projects in the pilot network, which we will provide more support to and which will help us refine the iLAND systems. We hope to have iLAND project profiles on the iLAND webpages during the first 3 months of 2020. From there we expect the network to expand significantly in Europe and around the world. For more information see: https://www.ipenpermaculture.org/ipen-priorities/iland-demonstration-centresHowever, there are challenges having the capacity to support the projects and network in the way they deserve. So several EuPN members are collaborating on an Erasmus+ application to try to provide significant funded support over 2021-22 to the development of iLAND Centres across Europe, as well as an innovation that adapts the idea to a more urban, less land focused concept of iACT hubs (ACT = action for community-led transition), that would connect with LAND Centres in one learning and demonstration centre network. More news on this next time!
