When we first planted the seed of the European Permaculture Network (EuPN) website, our vision was to grow a thriving community that brought together permaculture enthusiasts from all corners of Europe. Our mission was to facilitate the sharing of knowledge, foster collaboration, and encourage the proliferation of sustainable practices. Today, we're nurturing this seed into a robust plant with the introduction of our Permahub Certification Process.
The digital certification
The EuPN PermaHub Certification intertwines software certification with human-paired quality control, creating a dynamic blend of technology and human touch. It signifies a commitment to not just practicing but also actively promoting permaculture principles.
The rationale behind the certification process is simple yet profound. Permaculture places who offer Permaculture Design Courses (PDC), Permaculture Introductory Courses (PIC), and/or related permaculture workshops want their initiatives to be publicly recognized. By putting a place and event details into the EuPN system we are leaving a digital footprint of our permaculture endeavors behind. This digital trace forms the basis upon which our continuous commitment to fostering permaculture can be automatically accredited with the EuPN PermaHub Certification.
Encouraging Active Participation
Active participation is the lifeblood of a thriving community. By linking certification to the creation of events and projects we're encouraging projects to stay engaged with the network, keeping our community vibrant, informed, and collaborative.
Building Trust and Credibility
For newcomers to our network, seeing a project with a Permahub Certification can serve as a trust signal. It indicates that the project is not only active but committed to practicing permaculture at a high standard. This can foster trust and credibility within our network, making it easier for new members to find projects to learn from or collaborate with.
Final Thoughts
The Permahub Certification is a significant milestone for the EUPN, and we're buzzing with excitement to witness the positive impact it will have on our network. We believe this process will drive our community towards increased quality, collaboration, and recognition. So here's to all our dedicated permaculturists out there, let's continue growing 🌳, learning 🧠, and setting the bar high for sustainability in Europe!
