Transylvania Permaculture Campfire 2026
The Transylvanian Permaculture Campfire is THE highlight of our event year at Dupa Gard. This year it takes place from 6.-10. August 2026.
The Transylvanian Permaculture Campfire is the highlight of our year, designed to bridge the Romanian and international permaculture scenes through a mix of structured workshops and spontaneous community learning. We spend our days tuning into our senses and reconnecting with our bodies and the earth, cultivating the growth of our inner selves as much as the soil.
🌀 Our Gathering Schedule 🌀
- Thursday Evening: We settle into the peace of the mountains with a welcome circle and storytelling. Our guest Andrei, a mythology weaver of modernity, will lead a session to help us imagine and feel into what community means for us individually and as a collective.
- Friday: We begin the day with Bogdan Romanică and his experiential workshop, Awakening to the Spirit of Place. This journey helps us engage with the subtle energies of the land and attune to the more than human community of plant and animal people. Throughout the rest of the day, there may be space for participant led workshops, such as sessions on herbalism, macrame, or gardening. In the evening, Bogdan Racolta will join our drum circle as we merge into the nightly fire.
- Saturday: Our main workshop features Beatriz Gallego Maraver, who will facilitate an introductory Dragon Dreaming session focused on the win win win philosophy for collaborative projects. The night belongs to the music of Ursu (Sound of Om) as the Perseids meteor shower dances above us.
- Sunday: A slow Community Day focused on resting, relating, and social permaculture. This is a special day where locals will present their traditional crafts and products for us to discover as we celebrate the unique cultural tissue of the region.
- Monday: For those who stay, we conclude our journey with a guided hike to dive deeper into the surrounding mountains. Sturdy boots, water, and sun protection are mandatory for this activity to safely explore the magnificent landscape.
🏕️ Living with the Land 🏕️
Stays are primarily camping based in your own tent, allowing us to stay close to the rhythm of nature. We have recently updated our facilities with a new warm shower at the campsite to make your stay more comfortable.
This is a self sufficient gathering where we share the abundance of the land. We provide a community fire pit with a large pot and fresh vegetables from our permaculture garden as availability allows. It is a space to step away from the everyday and reconnect with what truly matters: people, projects, and the community.
We are super excited to see you around the campfire soon! 💚 🌼 💚

Since my first PDC in 2021 the permaculture-bug got to me and didnt let me go. I call myself a permaculture-enthusiast, and love practicing anything connected with it.
