These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the digital services operated under the European Permaculture Network (EuPN), including:

By registering or using these services, you agree to these Terms.

2. Operator

The legal operator of the EuPN platform is:

The platform is operated as a community-stewarded initiative for the benefit of the wider permaculture community.

3. User Accounts

Certain features require registration.

Users agree to:

  • provide accurate information
  • keep login credentials secure
  • not share accounts
  • update information when necessary

Accounts may be suspended or removed if these Terms are violated.

4. Member Content

Members may publish content including:

  • profile information
  • project descriptions
  • event listings
  • forum posts
  • blog posts
  • book listings
  • resource listing
  • design posts
  • comments
  • uploaded documents

Members are solely responsible for the content they publish.

Members must ensure that:

  • they hold the necessary rights to the content
  • the content does not violate applicable law
  • the content does not infringe third-party rights

EuPN does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of member-generated content.

5. License to the Platform

Users retain ownership of their content.

By publishing content on the platform, users grant EuPN a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:

  • store
  • display
  • reproduce
  • distribute

such content solely for the purpose of operating and promoting the platform.

This license ends when the content is removed, except where retention is required for legal or technical reasons.

6. Acceptable Use

Users agree not to:

  • upload unlawful, harmful, or misleading content
  • infringe intellectual property rights
  • use the platform for spam or commercial abuse
  • attempt to disrupt platform functionality
  • upload malware or harmful code

EuPN reserves the right to remove content or restrict access in case of violations.

7. Moderation

The platform may be moderated.

EuPN reserves the right to:

  • edit or remove content
  • suspend accounts
  • restrict access

where necessary to protect the integrity of the platform or its community.

Moderation decisions are made in good faith and in line with the platform’s purpose and code of conduct.

8. Nextcloud Services

Nextcloud is provided as a collaboration tool.

Members are responsible for:

  • the files they upload
  • ensuring they have rights to share such files

EuPN does not review files proactively but may restrict access if misuse is detected.

9. Availability of Services

EuPN aims to provide stable and continuous access to its services.

However:

  • no guarantee of uninterrupted availability is given
  • maintenance, updates, or technical issues may occur
  • features may change over time

Members have no contractual claim to permanent availability.

10. External Links and Third-Party Services

The platform may include links or embedded content from third-party providers.

EuPN is not responsible for:

  • external websites
  • third-party content
  • third-party data processing practices

11. Liability

EuPN is liable only in cases of intentional misconduct or gross negligence, in accordance with applicable law.

EuPN is not liable for:

  • member-generated content
  • indirect damages
  • loss of data caused by member actions

Members are responsible for backing up important personal data stored in Nextcloud.

12. Termination

Member may delete their account at any time.

EuPN may suspend or terminate accounts if:

  • these Terms are violated
  • unlawful activity occurs
  • continued access endangers the platform

Certain data may be retained where legally required.

13. Applicable Law

These Terms are governed by Finnish law.

Place of jurisdiction is Finland, unless mandatory consumer protection law provides otherwise.

14. Changes to the Terms

EuPN may update these Terms when necessary.

The latest version will always be published on the website.

Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
