EuPN Certified PDC

Over the decades, the requirements for teaching a PDC have steadily increased. When Bill Mollison introduced the PDC, he stated that anyone who had completed a course could teach one. Later, the common minimum expectation became a diploma in permaculture design.

Unfortunately, teacher education still varies widely across Europe. Simply requiring a diploma does not guarantee the quality of a PDC.

To ensure fairness for those who cannot easily job-shadow experienced teachers or lack opportunities to co-teach, the European Permaculture Network provides an alternative path.

In the EuPN Certified PDC, the quality of the course is assessed directly by the participants of the PDC being certified.
