Facilitated by Starhawk and Alfred Decker Earth Activist Training (EAT) is an intensive course combining theory with practical hands-on learning. We will examine the underlying assumptions of the current culture of consumerism and economic globalisation, and encourage exploration of ways to contribute to the emergence of a culture of sustainability, compassion and equity.

Inspired by their visit to Koster Trädgårdar in Sweden, a team of Permaculture teachers from Bulgaria made a video about the LAND initiative, its roots as well as its future. Mihaela Tsarchinska, the founder of Green School Village, an organization that functions as a hub for ecological projects, has jumpstarted the implementation of a diploma process as well as LAND center approval for the Balkan Region. This means that in a few years time, there will be three regions in which people seeking permaculture demonstration sites can do so through the LAND NETWORK: The UK, Scandinavia and the Balkans.
The film was directed by Mihail Kossev, an alumnus of the European Permaculture Teacher Partnership, and co-funded by Erasmus+. Mihail walks us through the journey of setting up a LAND center through interviews with Cathrine Dolleris (LAND coordinator for Denmark and helping Scandinavia and the Baltic area) and Helena (co-owner of the Kosters farm). For those involved or interested in applying permaculture in the humanitarian and disaster relief sectors in Europe or elsewhere, the Re-Alliance Coalition brings together field practitioners, policy makers, educators, community leaders and humanitarian and development workers. Re-Alliance will soon be publishing their first case studies on their website. An annual course on Permaculture for Development Workers has been run twice by Chris Evans, Giselle Henriques and others, and is likely to be available again in Autumn 2020 or as an online course. The ReLeaP partnership project application, taken forward by the Resources for Action Working Group, and involving 8 EuPN members, will be submitted at the end of March. If Erasmus+ funding is approved this will deliver a 2 year ‘Regenerative Leadership Programme’ starting towards the end of 2020 to support the pioneers and leaders in permaculture networks, organisations, projects and teaching across Europe, with the aim that at least 50% of the participants will be under 30 years old. The project will involve a series of physical events (for partners) and online events (open to all), and produce a number of Good Practice Guides (LAND Centres; permaculture education systems; permaculture organisation development; etc) and resources to stimulate and support the accelerated succession of the permaculture movement across Europe. If successful this will allow the project to bring together and present a lot of the well-proven and innovative permaculture education activity that is happening across Europe, and lead to on-line ReLeaP training and resources being accessible across Europe and around the world on an ongoing basis.
